Meet the mamas Behind the Mission

It started with snacks.

In late 2024, a handful of tired but determined dance moms got together to sell chips, cookies, and whatever else we could find to cover competition fees. We were just trying to keep our kids dancing — one fundraiser table at a time. But something unexpected happened. As we hustled through bake sales and brainstormed raffle baskets, we realized we weren’t alone — and our ambitions were bigger than just helping our own.

What started as a scrappy effort to raise funds turned into a full-blown mission: to support all keiki in the arts, not just our own. Because every child deserves the chance to perform, to create, and to shine — regardless of what’s in their mom’s wallet.

So we became Broke Dance Mom$ Hawaii — a nonprofit powered by hustle, love, community, and the unshakable belief that the arts matter. We're here to build opportunities, break down barriers, and show up loud for the next generation of dancers, dreamers, and doers.
